Baltimore Fleet Week!

Since 2016, Baltimore Fleet Week has been one of Charm City’s most anticipated events. During the festivities, thousands of visitors flock to the area to watch the flyovers, participate in daily activities, and check out the wide array of ships that lay anchor in Baltimore’s Northwest Harbor.

The Baltimore boating community represents a huge chunk of the festival’s attendees. If you have your own vessel and want to immerse yourself in Fleet Week, book a stay at the Harbor East Marina, which is centrally located near all of the festivities.

Here’s everything that’s going on during the 2024 Baltimore Fleet Week:

Festivals

Baltimore Fleet Week will take place from June 12 through June 18. Organizers are officially kicking off the event with a Welcome Ceremony at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, which is slated for June 12.

This huge event spans Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, North Locust Point, Fells Point, and the Martin State Airport. Although the ships are the star of the show, event organizers have planned some awesome festivals as well. Events will offer food and drink, military displays, hands-on activities for the whole family, exhibitors, and live music.

The first of the three festivals will take place at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor West Shore Park. It’s booked for June 14 through June 16. The event will begin at 11 a.m. each day and run until 7 p.m.

Two other festivals are scheduled for June 15 and June 16. The Fells Point event will open its doors at 11 a.m. and wrap up at 7 p.m. each day. The Martin State Airport Open House and Festival has slightly shorter hours, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

Air Activities

If you are attending Baltimore Fleet Week for the airplanes, make sure you are in town on June 15 and 16. Flyovers will begin early Saturday and will feature everything from historic military aircraft to modern marvels of aeronautical engineering. If you have little ones, bring ear protection, as several jets will roar overhead. Flyovers will continue throughout the day on Sunday, June 16.

The Flyover Control Center, which will be set up at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, will provide updates and announcements about the flyovers. Make sure to check it out if there’s a particular plane you want to see soaring through the sky.

Ships

At Baltimore Fleet Week, the wide range of vessels steal the show. This year, there will be international naval ships, Army Corps of Engineers vessels, U.S. Coast Guard ships, and more. As always, working and sailing craft will also be in attendance.

Want to see one of these vessels up close? Most ships will be open for public tours between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. starting Thursday, June 13. Tours will continue through Monday, June 17.

Download the event’s official app for specific tour schedules. You can see when vessels are open and stay up-to-date on any scheduling changes.
